Welcome to the Stettin Haus!

The Stettin Haus offers a year-round unique, upscale mountain vacation experience. In the spring and summer enjoy the walking and hiking trails, fish the rivers and streams, ride the quad lift to the top of Beech Mtn and enjoy mountain biking, roller skiing, disc
golf and more, all with the breathtaking backdrop of the surrounding mountain views. Enjoy the fall as the weather begins to cool down and the vibrant autumn colors command the mountain views! In winter and early spring, enjoy snow skiing and snowboarding on the slopes of Ski Beech! Also in the village atop Beech Mtn are the all-new sledding hill and the open-air ice skating rink as well as all of the shops and restaurants.

At the house itself, enjoy the brand new hot tub and the outdoor living area which offers a stainless gas grill, gas log fireplace, large flat panel TV with DirecTV satellite programming, and casual, comfortable furnishings as well as outdoor dining. The property is level and well-landscaped, and features a fire pit. Highlighting the edge of the property is a mountain creek which offers a safe place for children to splash around as well as a wonderful place to practice your fly fishing!

In the main house you will find a private upstairs king master suite wth vaulted tongue and groove ceilings, HDTV, an en-suite full bathroom, a dressing table, a floor mobile air conditioning unit, and a covered juliette deck. On the main floor are a queen bedroom with a flat panel HDTV and a bunk bedroom with a twin over queen log-hewn bunk bed as well as a ladder-accessed sleeping perch with a twin bed-above the entry door and closets. These two bedrooms share a second full bathroom. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area, and features high, vaulted tongue and groove ceilings, flat panel HDTV with BluRay player, a gas log fireplace, and a piano that guests are welcome to play! The kitchen is a chef's dream with high-end stainless appliances, gas cooktop and griddle, and granite countertops. The impressive granite center island is twelve feet long with a unique rustic chandelier, is surrounded with Amish-made bar seats, and aptly serves as the dining table.

The guest house also features vaulted tongue and groove ceilings and an open floor plan. The living area offers a comfortable sofa (which opens out to offer a sleeper sofa for two) and armchair which focus on the electric fireplace and brand new flat panel HDTV with DirecTV digital satellite programming. The kitchenette is a dry kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and custom live-edge shelving which house ample wares for snacks and drinks.  The comfy Queen bed is tucked around the corner to offer some separation from the living and kitchen areas. The full bathroom is finished nicely with granite and tile, and offers a tub and shower. The guest house also offers heat and large effective mobile floor unit air conditioning as well as dehumidification when needed.

As the owners of the Stettin Haus are members of the Beech Mtn Club, guests have the option of purchasing guest passes, and are therefore able to access the 18-hole golf course, the swimming pool, the tennis courts, the pickle ball courts, the fitness center, the spa, the cafe and restaurant, the playground and more!  *** There is a daily (or weekly) cost for guest passes, and there are user fees for each amenity (except the pool, which is included with the purchase of the guest pass). *** When the slopes of Ski Beech are open, guests have VIP access to the Alpen Haus - only available to members of the Beech Mtn Club and their guests - which offers privileged parking as well as a cozy fireside lodge to enjoy snacks and drinks in, and a place to play games, watch TV and more while warming from the snowy slopes, or while waiting for other members of your group to return from the slopes.  The amenities of the Beech Mtn Club are all seasonal; please visit ---> (web link to come) <--- to see schedules.

Very nice folks at the office. when I called and left a voice mail message they got right back to me.
The property was very nice and the beds comfortable. There was no reference book in the home. the vertical blinds were broken with missing slats. The cushions on the outdoor furniture were very old and could be updated. These are just little things but it would go a long way to make a stay more comfortable.

Every step of the way, the members of Carolina Cabin Rentals were polite, understanding and pleasant. Unfortunately, none of the issues we encountered were resolved, so that does not reflect well.
Let me begin by saying that EVERYONE involved with our vacation rental was pleasant, kind, and a pleasure to speak with. We arrived at the cabin during very heavy rain and about an hour earlier than check-in, but were graciously allowed to enter. Our first impressions were impressive and the property was clean and well-appointed. It was a warm day and with the rain, we hoped to turn on the air conditioners described on the website. Unfortunately, the exhaust hoses were missing, so we could not utilize the units. It was a bit uncomfortable. Grandma doesn't do well with heat, so we specifically made sure to reserve a cabin with air conditioners-big disappointment. Soon it was time to grill dinner in the outdoor kitchen - no such luck. We could tell there was a gas line, but there was also another line that looked like it needed a tank -confusing, frustrating- hungry kids. Back to the indoor kitchen. After dinner, we attempted to make sleeping arrangements and again were surprised when there was no ladder to the sleeping loft. The site clearly said it was a laddered loft and my 15-year-old would have been very able to utilize it - NOPE! At least my dad could take a shower a sleep in the guest cottage, NO Again! The water would only come out of the tub, the pull was not attached to divert the water to shower. UGH! Shuffled around sleeping arrangements again. Thankfully, the weather was not terribly hot and grandma sat outside most of the time. The rest double bunked. Hair was washed in the guest cottage sink. Grill was never able to be used. I emailed and got a response quickly. Very nice. Maintenance called, was very sympathetic to our needs, but basically could only tell us where to find the a/c hoses - in a locked closet. No help for the shower until a plumber could fix (after our stay), he attempted to explain the grill and disclosed that he regularly gets calls about it. Not sure why someone hasn't corrected that. He also told us to get the ladder out of a storage shed. He warned us that it was tricky. Ok, this should never be used. I would not let anyone of my family members use the ladder. The rungs slip when you stand on them and it is not secured in any way. Unacceptable! Should not be advertised as a sleeping area. In spite of the challenges, there were wonderful amenities like the chef's kitchen and the creek. Did our family had a good vacation? Yes! But a few changes could have made it even better. I did speak to several members of Carolina Cabin Rentals who told me I would hear back in a few days...a week later, nothing. As a writer for a Florida-based family travel and news organization, I can only present the truth.

The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. I only wish the fire pit was more accessible/convenient at this particular property. Because of it's location on the property we ended up not using it at all.

Emailed about bungee cords for trash cans. Never got them because I was told they get with the maintenance guy but had no idea when he would get to us. Never did before we left. Hope he did before the next guest did.
Pots, pans, cutting boards, measuring cups and such need help. 2 pans, no skillet, no measuring cups or spoons. One kitchen towel and rag are really not enough. I ended up buying measuring cups and spoons. I left the measuring spoons. Started to buy a cheap set of pots and pans to leave. But didn't. There were no bungee cords on the trash cans, so a bear got into it. Emailed you and was told you would get bungee cords to me but didn't know when. So we took the bungee cord off of the hot tub and put on it. Other than those issues, we loved the house and the area. Definitely looking into coming next year to stay at the same house. Just want to come when the Wooly Worn Festival is.

The house was beautiful but was very hot. We couldn't find the central air. We called and found out there was no central air conditioning We had plenty of room for all of our family. The creek was not fit for children to play in. The heat and creek were the only issues.

Very good.
The beds were VERY comfortable! However, the cookware and meal prep utensils were awful to say the least. If you plan on cooking at the house be prepared to bring your own things. (Glad you enjoyed the beds and thank you for your helpful feedback. We will be conducting an inventory of the cookware and will work with the homeowner to remedy the situation for future guests. --MGT)

- the guest house is included with all reservations at no additional cost.

- the Beech Mtn Club amenities are not year-round; they are available depending on weather conditions.  The schedule changes each year, and can be found by visiting ---> (website link to come) <--- typically the swimming pool and tennis courts close in September.  Typically the golf course closes in October.  The Alpen Haus is typically open when the slopes of Ski Beech are open.

- in order to have access to the Beech Mtn Club privileges, you MUST reply to the email that you will receive from us after completing your reservation. That will start the process by which you will need to list guests who will be using the BMC, dates you want to purchase guest passes for, and amenities that you want access to.  This MUST BE completed at least 3 business days before your arrival!

- the Stettin Haus does allow dogs (dogs only), no more than two. Any exceptions must be presented to and approved by Carolina Cabin Rentals.  Standard pet fees will apply.

- the outdoor living area is available to all guests year-round, however we are unable to predict or control weather, so although available, it may not always be comfortable for all guests - it does have a roof, but the walls are open so on cold, windy days it will be cold out there. Just know that, although we do offer the outdoor living area year-round, the only source of heat is the gas log fireplace, and we therefore do not guarantee that the outdoor living area will always be comfortable or habitable.

- although the maximum occupancy at the Stettin Haus is 12 guests, we allow up to 10 guests under the advertised rates. If more than 10 guests are staying we permit that, however there will be an additional guest fee of $20 per guest per night plus tax for any number of guests in addition to the first 10.
