Great Getaway Cabin Near Boone, Banner Elk and Grandfather, Sleeps 9
This delightful cabin is a perfect mountain getaway! It is centrally located and close to so many of the most visited attractions here in the High Country. Enjoy the cozy comfort of this true log cabin with wonderful views of Grandfather Mountain.

This home features three stories of comfortable space and sleeping accommodations for 9. It has an open floor plan with a living room with a stone, wood-burning fireplace.

The master suite (with a King bed) is on the main floor with a spacious loft area and second bedroom upstairs (with 2 Queen Beds). The lower level of the home has a great game room with a full size air hockey table with electronic scoring, foosball, darts and bar. The lower level also has a separate den area with a new flat screen TV, a Wii gaming system, a Queen sized Futon, and a full bath (we count this area downstairs as the 4th bedroom, as there is a private door that closes this lower level off from upstairs). This spacious cabin offers comfort and amenities for all ages.

This home could be considered a true 2 bedroom, but it works very well as a 4 bedroom home, so take a careful look at the sleeping arrangements and see if it will work well for your group:

Main Floor:
- Master Suite with a King bed (being delivered May 2012 - sleeps 2).
- Master bath has both a shower and a jacuzzi tub!
- Half Bath in hall off living room

Upstairs:
- Has one large bedroom with two Queen beds (sleeps 4)
- Loft with Double Futon (sleeps 1-2 - counted as the 3rd bedroom)
- Full Bath shared by both the loft sleeping area and the bedroom on that level

Lower Level:
- Has a separate door that closes from the upstairs - Queen Futon (sleeps 2)
- Around the corner is the game room with air hockey, foosball and darts
- Wii gaming system on lower level
- Full Bath and separate full laundry room

Note: Due to a POA restriction, a maximum of 2 cars are permitted to be parked at the property. If you need it, we have additional parking available at our office. Just let us know.

Hey David ! What a great week! We had the best time ... this was our honeymoon and it was just so perfect! The house is absolutely beautiful ... a matter of fact, Mike was even saying "I wonder how much they would sell this house for" ... haaaa. He did get locked in that bathroom in the hall .. until he figured out to pull that chain ... now that was funny and I did remind him of that for days ... lol The view was just stunning and we so enjoyed sitting on the porch : ) We will definitely come back !! Thanks so much for allowing us to have the best honeymoon !! Sincerely, Wendy : ) - June 1 - 7, 2012

My sister, brother-in-law and I think this house is beautiful. All the young kids loved the downstairs play room. The views of the mountains were amazing! (June 11, 2012)

We had a wonderful time in your home. The furnishings are comfy and welcoming. My grandkids love the game room in the basement and I love the chairs on the porch and the view of Grandfather Mountain. (June 24, 2012)

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us for the week. It was so nice to return "home" each evening after our day of adventure. We look forward to returning soon! (July 20, 2012)

Our 30th Wedding Anniversary! We wanted to do something special and we did - LOVE the place. We had an excellent time here and exploring the surrounding areas. Great memories made. (July 24, 2012)

Had a great, long weekend to celebrate our twins' 12 th birthday. They each brought a friend, and this cabin served four 12-year olds quite well. The boys are hockey players and fans, so the downstairs was a hit! The girls enjoyed darts and video games (I think someone got a high score), and all four kids made their own Mini-Olympcs of activities. When not enjoying the cabin, we had a great time ziplining at Hawksnest and kayaking down the New River (FYI: second oldest river in the world. So we were told!) Thank you for opening up your home to us. We hope to be back again soon! (August 2, 2012)

My 7 year old daughter found this cabin online and said we HAD to come here (she's an air hockey fan and the game room won her over.) I absolutely loved this cabin and wish we could be here longer. We enjoyed coming "home" each night, following our many adventures. My daughter loves the room in the wall in the upstairs bedroom. Hard to say what my favorite part of the cabin is - the front porch is a high contender! At any rate, tomorrow we go home and the time here has flown by. Lesson learned - 3 days is not enough. Would love to come back to Grandfather Vista again. Thanks for a wonderful getaway! (August 9, 2012)

The cabin was nice overall. It was spacious and comfortable for 8. It was in the perfect location and everyone enjoyed their stay. The game room was a big hit for the little ones, especially when the adults wanted to relax and stay in. We would definitely stay at Grandfather Vista again and use Mountain Lodge Realty!

Thank you for allowing us to rent the Grandfather Vista. We had an AMAZING stay. Everything was perfect. We give 5's on all the questions provided, better yet we give 10's. One question ask would we recommend this cabin to anyone else...........the answer is yes and no. Yes because the entire adventure was amazing, gorgeous place, clean, homey, comfortable, easy to find, close to all attractions, and the list goes on and on. The no answer is because we want to rent it out every time we come up there and don't want it booked.........we want it all to ourselves. We could not ask for a better place with small children. The entertainment provided for the children was perfect. The wii, dvd, large tub, game room, and all the room provided for them to play. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent this cabin.
