The house has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and high windows in the main living area. The living room has exposed timbers, a stacked stone fireplace with gas logs for cozy winter days and a 60 inch mounted flat screen TV. There is a spacious back deck with huge views from the Boone area all the way to Tennessee, a gas grill, dining table and two rustic rocking chairs. The view looks out over Valle Crucis across the Boone area to the Rich Mountain Range which begins with Howards Knob in Boone and runs northwest into Tennessee. In summer, this view is rich and verdant and in winter, the peaks are usually snow covered.

The delightful kitchen has granite counters and stainless appliances including a dishwasher and is thoroughly stocked by the owners for almost any conceivable cooking activity by their guests. The living room looks out onto the covered front porch with a swing for lazy days in summer. The location is private near the end of a non-thru street.
The King master suite, which has a wonderful view, is on the main floor with flat screen TV. The master bath has double sinks, granite counters and slate shower. Stairs from the living room go up to a cozy loft. A second Queen bedroom upstairs has a TV with Direct TV. The third bedroom has bunk beds with a double bed on the bottom and twin size mattress on the top bunk. This bedroom has a flat screen television with a DVD player and Xbox Kinect. The upstairs bedrooms share a full bathroom with tub/shower combination.

Cabin was great! Loved all the extras especially the fans (box fans). Don't change a thing. We will definitely be back to visit.

Our family traveled up for Spring Break and we were so very pleased with the cabin. It was very well decorated, clean, comfortable and serene. We will be sure to visit again. The kids loved the X-Box and the bunk beds. I loved the movie collection and top notch kitchen. Thanks for a great vacation

We are here for our 4^th anniversary. Started in Asheville and stayed at the Biltmore. Very nice and definitely interesting. We enjoyed the quiet mountain life here. Visited the Mast General Store and Grandfather Mountain. This is a beautiful cabin -- our only complaint was no blinds in the bedroom. [The home now has blinds! Thanks for the feed back.] Enjoyed the layout of the house. First floor and deck were perfect for the 2 of us. The views from all of the windows are great -- you can stay inside and walk around and see the outside beauty. The sound insulation and construction of the cabin is superb.

We had an amazing time at Valle Crucis Overlook! The house is beautiful with one of the most incredible views! The house was very clean, well stocked with everything we needed! This is the third cabin we have stayed in in the Boone area and is by far the best one yet! We especially enjoyed the beautiful farm that you drive through when approaching the cabin! We had a blast feeding the animals. I will definitely come again as well as recommend it to our friends! (September 26 2013)

The view and home truly were much more than we expected. We were there for my son's graduation from App State for the week-end and the whole atmosphere just added to the occasion. I will definitely recommend the home to our friends! (May 13, 2013)

What a beautiful home -- we very much enjoyed our stay. We came to Boone to move my son into an apartment at App State. We drove to Banner Elk and Linville taking the Blue Ridge Parkway from Linville to Boone -- as must do -- it is so amazing. We had lots of work to do in Boone and hated leaving the cabin, but looked forward to coming home to take in the view and enjoy the fire while relaxing -- and yes -- a fire was necessary in May!! The kitchen and house were very well appointed. We made a big spaghetti dinner for my son and a few friends. They loved the home and played backgammon all night . Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We will be back very soon.

The cabin was roomy and comfortable. We had everything we needed. We were here to celebrate our son's graduation from App State. We had our family here and everyone loved the cabin, especially our grandson Nick -- he loved the bunk beds. The weather turned sunny and the view was great! Beautiful place!
