Welcome to The Bear’s Den!
Located on Beech Mountain, The Bear’s Den is minutes away from High Country adventure. Beech Mountain Ski Resort is a short five minute drive, and offers year-round activities. Guests will enjoy 17 ski runs and an iceskating rink during winter months and mountain biking trails and disc golf in the summer. Take a hike on one of the many trails only minutes from the home. Buckeye Recreation Area is less than 3 miles away, with fishing, basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and a hiking trail to a beautiful waterfall. Twenty minutes down the mountain, the quaint town of Banner Elk is home to Lees McRae College, and gives guests access to local shopping and dining, Banner Elk Winery and Vineyard, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort.
The Bear’s Den is a two-level mountain home that can accommodate up to nine guests. The great room has beautiful wood details including exposed beams and tongue and groove ceilings. The reclining couches are situation around a gas fireplace and HDTV, where you can relax and and unwind after a day of hiking or skiing. The expansive covered deck features a hot tub where guests can sit back and take in the breathtaking mountain views. There is also an outdoor dry bar with a mini-fridge and TV, the perfect place for your whole family to enjoy your favorite meal. The kitchen is fully stocked and has new stainless steel appliances to meet all your cooking needs. Downstairs is home to the game room with a pool table, PacMan arcade game, and a comfortable sitting area around the HDTV to take in the big game. The lower deck leads to a fire pit where guests can roast marshmallows and share their favorite memories.
The main level has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a full-size bed, ensuite bathroom, and access to the covered deck. The home accessed via a gravel road and provides parking for three vehicles in a level gravel parking area. There is a set of stairs leading to the house. Pets are not allowed at this property.
