Your Mountain Stay

What to Expect

Arriving at your mountain home should feel like the beginning of your
vacation, not another item on your travel checklist. Before your stay,
we’ll send the directions, access details, and property information you
need to go directly to the home and settle in. Each property will be
professionally cleaned, inspected, and prepared with commercially
laundered sheets and towels before you arrive. When it is time to head
home, checkout is just as simple, with only a few basic steps before you
lock the door behind you.

Before Your Stay

Everything You Need Before You Leave Home

A few days before arrival, you will receive the information needed for a
smooth trip, including the property address, check-in time, driving
directions, parking details, and instructions for entering the home.

Most of our properties offer self check-in, so there is no need to stop
at an office or coordinate a key pickup. You can travel at your own pace
and go directly to the home once it is ready.

Review your arrival information before leaving and save it somewhere you
can access without cell service. Mountain roads can be unfamiliar, and
written directions are often more reliable than navigation apps near the
property.

Your arrival information may include:

  • The property address and driving directions
  • Your check-in time
  • Door codes or key instructions
  • Driveway and parking information
  • Wi-Fi details
  • Property-specific notes and instructions
  • Contact information for our local guest services team

Save your arrival details before traveling.
Take a screenshot or download your directions and entry instructions. Cell service may become limited as you get closer to some mountain homes.

Arrival Day

Arriving at Your Vacation Rental

Your home will be cleaned, inspected, and prepared before the listed
check-in time. Beds will be made with commercially washed and dried
linens, and the home will include the towels and starter supplies
described in your reservation information.

When you arrive, take a few minutes to settle in and become familiar with
the property. Locate the Wi-Fi information, check the thermostat, and
review any instructions provided for the home’s amenities.

Mountain properties can have unique layouts, equipment, and features, so
some homes may include additional instructions for fireplaces, hot tubs,
televisions, grills, well water, septic systems, or community amenities.

Something does not look right?
Please let us know promptly. Our local team has the best opportunity to assist when an issue is reported early in the stay.

Arriving After Dark

Whenever possible, arriving before sunset can make it easier to identify
the driveway, parking area, entrance, steps, and outdoor walkways.

Many mountain homes are located on quiet roads with limited street
lighting. If you expect to arrive after dark, keep your directions and
access instructions close at hand and have a flashlight available.

Parking and Mountain Roads

Please park only in the areas designated for the property. Mountain
driveways may be steep, narrow, shared, gravel, or limited in size, and
parking arrangements vary from one home to another.

Do not block shared roads, neighboring driveways, or access areas. The
number of vehicles allowed may also be limited by the available parking
space or community rules.

Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains. During snow or
ice, guests may need an appropriate vehicle, suitable tires, tire chains
where permitted, and proper clothing and footwear for walking on winter
surfaces.

Settling In

We want the home to feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. You are
welcome to unpack, relax, and begin enjoying your stay without completing
a long check-in process.

Starter supplies are provided to help you settle in. Vacation homes are
set up for self-catering stays, so guests staying for several days may
wish to bring or purchase additional supplies.

  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Trash bags
  • Dish soap or dishwasher detergent
  • Hand soap
  • Basic cleaning supplies

During Your Stay

We’re Nearby When You Need Us

A vacation rental offers more space, privacy, and independence than a
hotel, but that does not mean you are on your own.

Our local team is available to assist with access questions, maintenance
concerns, or problems that arise during your stay. Please contact us when
an issue occurs rather than waiting until departure. Many concerns can be
corrected quickly once we know about them.

For urgent problems involving safety, water leaks, loss of heat,
inability to enter the property, or another serious issue, contact the
guest services number included in your arrival information.

Departure Day

A Simple Checkout

Checkout is designed to be straightforward. We do not expect you to clean
the home, strip every bed, or spend the final morning of your vacation
completing a long chore list.

We simply ask that you leave by the checkout time shown in your
reservation and complete a few basic steps so our housekeeping team can
begin preparing the home for the next guests.

Before you leave:

  • Place trash in the designated containers.
  • Load and start the dishwasher, if available.
  • Remove personal food and belongings.
  • Return furniture, remotes, and household items to their original
    locations.
  • Turn off lights and small appliances.
  • Close and lock windows and exterior doors.
  • Follow property-specific instructions for fireplaces, grills, hot tubs,
    or thermostats.
  • Return physical keys, parking passes, or amenity passes when applicable.

Please leave used beds unmade.
There is no need to strip the beds or wash the linens unless your property-specific instructions say otherwise.

Trash and Food

Please remove personal groceries and leftover food from the refrigerator,
freezer, pantry, and cabinets before departure.

Household trash should be placed in the secured bins or collection area
identified in your checkout instructions. Do not leave loose trash
outdoors, as it can attract wildlife.

Before You Lock the Door

A final walk through can help prevent a forgotten item from extending
your vacation in the wrong way.

Check closets, drawers, bathrooms, the refrigerator, electrical outlets,
decks, and areas under beds for:

  • Phones and chargers
  • Medications
  • Wallets and vehicle keys
  • Jewelry and personal documents
  • Children’s belongings
  • Pet supplies

Once everyone is outside, secure the home according to the departure
instructions and confirm that the door is locked.

Late Checkout

Late checkout is not automatically available and must be approved in
advance. Contact us before your departure day if you would like to extend
your stay or request additional time.
