Welcome to Alpine Horizon!
Alpine Horizon is a fully renovated 4BR, 3BA modern mountain lodge offering easy access and wonderful gathering spaces for your next High Country getaway!

Alpine Horizon features:

All the comforts of a full renovation (completed in 2025, including an all-new kitchen with stainless and granite, all new bathrooms, all new LVP flooring, brand-new central air-conditioning and heat, and a brand-new hot tub...just to name a few)
A friendly neighborhood location, with cooler temperatures at 4000 ft+ elevation

Central Location and Nearby Attractions
Alpine Horizon is centrally located between Blowing Rock and Boone, giving easy access to nearby attractions:

Downtown Blowing Rock - 11 minutes
Appalachian Ski Mountain - 11 minutes
Tweetsie Railroad - 11 minutes
Moses Cone Park - 13 minutes
Boone - 15 minutes
Valle Crucis (and the wonderful original Mast General Store!) - 22 minutes
The Watauga and New Rivers are close by - about 30 minutes
Several Snow Tubing & Ziplines are nearby, including Hawksnest - 33 min away, and it's the largest tubing park in the Southeast!
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort - 35 minutes
Banner Elk - 35 minutes
Grandfather Mountain - 40 minutes
Linville Falls and Linville Caverns - about 45 minutes
Beech Mountain Ski Resort - 52 minutes
Watauga Lake is about an hour away
The closest grocery store is Food Lion in Blowing Rock - 10 minutes away

Ample Parking and Level Unloading
Driving into Alpine Horizon, you'll appreciate the spacious, paved parking area for 3 cars. An electric car charging port (connector type J1772 and plug type NEMA 14-50) is also onsite, and you'll love the no-stair unloading and entry into Alpine Horizon.

Welcome to the lower level game room, your vacation hub for fun and relaxation! Alpine Horizon offers so many choices...

Air hockey, ping-pong or foosball on the convertible mini 3-in-1 game table
80s-vintage arcade games on the electronic game console
Board games and puzzles are (in the antique pie safe)
Try your hand(s) on the 1970s-era Lowrey organ (instructions onsite)
Sink into the huge sectional sofa for movie nights on the big-screen TV with sound bar
Enjoy the convenient sofa console table with four stools (along with free, whole-house, 1G-speed internet) for any of your gaming, computer, and connection needs

Sleeping Arrangements
Guest rooms at Alpine Horizon are spread over three levels for your privacy and comfort. All bedrooms boast new (very comfy) mattresses and pillows, down-free duvets, plenty of warm blankets, HDTVs, room-darkening drapes, custom closet storage, luggage racks, and multi-port chargers. Sleeping arrangements (for up to 12 guests maximum) follow:

King Master Suite (sleeps 2) with ensuite bathroom (easy-entry shower), private balcony, and its own mini-split HVAC system
Main level Queen Bentwood Bedroom (sleeps 2, and shares a hall bath with the main level Queen Oak Bedroom, noted below)
Main level Queen Oak Bedroom (sleeps 2)
Lower level Twin bedroom (sleeps 2, hall bath immediately next to the bedroom)
Large sofa in lower level (sleeps 2 and has space for 2 more of your twin air mattresses)

Outside Spaces
...so many options for outside fun are at Alpine Horizon!

On the lower-level covered patio, you'll find a brand-new, 3-person hot tub (towels provided) and a two-seater bistro dining table
The patio fencing is contiguous with side and yard fencing, providing a wonderful safe place for kids to play outdoors
The main-level, mountain-view, wrap-around deck seats 10 for outdoor dining (a large table seats six, while two smaller tables seat two people each). The two smaller tables are placed in covered areas on the deck, permitting outdoor dining in any weather
Propane gas grill for your outdoor gourmet needs
A wood-burning Solo stove for apres-ski or evening warm-ups
The upper king suite has its own private balcony, with a small table and two-person seating...perfect for sunrise coffee

Main Level Gathering

On Alpine Horizon's main level, the brand-new kitchen is very well-stocked with everything you'll need for home-cooked meals during your vacation stay. Featuring custom shaker-style cabinets, granite counters, stainless appliances (including a smooth-top range with a built-in air fryer), open shelving, a breakfast bar with four stools, and a stunning mountain view from the sink...this kitchen is sure to please!
There is plenty of storage space for your groceries/supplies, on the stainless console table and wall-mounted open pantry shelves
The large mountain-view dining table seats eight comfortably, and can hold ten (two extra dining chairs are on the lower level)
Enjoy the vintage vibes of Alpine Horizon's vaulted main-level gathering area, complete with its original vaulted wood ceiling. Generous windows reveal sweeping mountain views, while leather seating gathers around a super-convenient, remote-controlled electric fireplace and a large, wall-mounted TV with surround sound. Plenty of floor cushions, blankets and pillows await your enjoyment in this welcoming space!

Just Outside the Door at Alpine Horizon

No through-traffic (the house is at the end of Alpine Drive) and a spacious flat driveway, great for outdoor play (corn hole, badminton, pickle ball and croquet are provided)
The neighborhood is very friendly and is “mountain flat” for strolling, especially down Alpine Drive toward Rambling Road
All roads are paved to the house, and snow removal on the roads is reliably handled by the neighborhood's HOA...but due to elevation, 4WD is recommended during the winter months
For a more challenging hike, cut through the neighborhood pathway at the bottom of Alpine Horizon's driveway to Golden Ridge Road—walk up to the top of Golden Ridge Road, and look for the tagged trail that leads up to the Moses Cone Park Firetower--the Firetower offers 360-degree mountain views from the top! From there, continue your hike into beautiful Moses Cone Park, if you wish
And, for all of you rail fans....during your stay, you may hear the historic No. 12 steam engine of Tweetsie Railroad
